From Mission Chefs

The ninth annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off, presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, will host Mission Chef Nathan Richard along with 10 other chefs from across Louisiana to compete on Saturday (May 28) during the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience‘s Grand Tasting at the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center. Buy tickets here.

Each chef will vie to be named King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood.

Here’s the 2016 line up: 

Bradley Andries of Sac-a-lait – New Orleans

Brian Bajon of Barcadia – New Orleans

Lyle Broussard of Jack Daniel’s Bar and Grill – Lake Charles

Ryan Gaudet of Spahr’s Seafood – Des Allemands

Celeste Gill of Cooking Up Louisiana Treasure – Baton Rouge

Frederick Ngo of Jimmy’s Seafood & Steak – Bossier City

Blake Phillips of Restaurant Sage – Monroe

Mark Quitney of Roux Bistro- New Orleans

Nathan Richard of Kingfish- New Orleans

Amy Sins of Langlois – New Orleans

Scott Varnedoe of Restaurant IPO – Baton Rouge.

Chef Jeff Henderson, host of “Flip My Food,” and 2011 King of Louisiana Seafood Chef Cory Bahr of Monroe will serve as masters of ceremony. Last year’s King of Louisiana Seafood, Chef Michael Brewer, will be on deck to crown this year’s winner.

King or Queen?

The winner of Saturday’s contest will be named King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood.  Not only with that chef become the spokesperson for Louisiana traveling the country, he or she will represent Louisiana at the most prestigious seafood competition in the US – the Great American Seafood Cook-Off set for Aug. 6, during the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s Food Service and Hospitality Expo. The 70th annual expo runs through Aug. 8 at the convention center.
