BATON ROUGE – May 5, 2017 - Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board have announced  the 12 chefs from across the state chosen to participate in the 10th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off, which will be held Tuesday, June 20 at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.

BATON ROUGE – March 27, 2017 - Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board have begun the search for chefs to participate in the 10th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off, which will be held Tuesday, June 20 at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Chefs from across the state who meet the eligibility standards are once again invited to submit applications by the Friday, April 28 deadline.

Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser is excited to announce that the 2017 Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off will take place in Lafayette, Louisiana June 20 in conjunction with the Eat Lafayette kick-off. This will be a fantastic opportunity for chefs from across the state to compete before an expected 2,000 attendees for the title “King or Queen of Louisiana Seafood.”

This premier cooking competition, presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board in partnership with the Louisiana Restaurant Association, will take place at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 28.

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne announced chef Mike Brewer of The Sammich in New Orleans as the 2015 King of Louisiana Seafood. Brewer earned the title today at the eighth annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. His dish of Sheepshead Nachos with Bacon Fat Tartar Sauce and Charred Corn Salsa won over the judges and earned him the title.

Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is announcing Chef Aaron Burgau of Patois in New Orleans as the 2014 King of Louisiana Seafood. Burgau was crowned today at the seventh annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. His dish of Crawfish and Pappardelle Pasta with Ramp Greens Purée and Uni Butter captivated the judges and won him the title.
